Uzbekistan becomes main importer of the Tajik cement in 2018
In January-November 2018, Tajikistan exported 1.3 million tons of cement. Of this, 738,000 tons were sent to the Uzbek market, making the republic main importer of the Tajik cement this year, Asia-plus reports.
Additionally, the country exported 481,000 tons of cement to Afghanistan and 85,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan in the past 11 months of this year.
Approximately 96% of the exported cement products were produced by Tajik-Chinese joint ventures, mainly by “Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement”, “Huaxin Gayur Cement” and “Huaxin Gayur Sugd”.
According to the data of the Tajik Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, in January-November 2018, the country produced 3.5 million tons of cement. This index is more by 400,000 tons compared with 2017.
Currently, there are 13 cement enterprises with total annual capacity of 5 million tons in the country.
