Today, Dec. 28, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the presidential press service reported.
During the talks, perspective directions and specific projects of deepening multifaceted partnership, as well as current issues of regional and international agenda were considered.
It should be noted that historical state visits of Mr. Mirziyoyev and Mr. Rahmon, a visa-free regime established between the sides and opportunities created at checkpoints had a positive impact on the dynamic improvement of bilateral contacts.
Uzbek-Tajik relations reached the level of strategic partnership.
A joint Intergovernmental Commission is working fruitfully under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers.
The leaders of the two countries noted with satisfaction the substantial growth in bilateral trade. Mutually beneficial cooperation is carried out in the field of stable supply of electricity and natural gas, regular road and air communications are launched.
The Presidents noted with satisfaction the dynamically expanding cultural-humanitarian dialogue, regular participation of creative teams of the two countries in various events held in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Friendship Nights were successfully held in Tashkent and Dushanbe, which vividly demonstrated the cultural and spiritual closeness of fraternal countries and people. Monuments to Navoi and Jami have been erected in Dushanbe and Samarkand.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon confirmed their firm mutual determination to further expand and strengthen the centuries-old friendship and good-neighborliness, as well as strategic partnership for the benefit of fraternal people of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
