“Russian-Uzbek trade turnover amounted to $ 3.5 billion in 2018” – Russian Ambassador
On December 28, the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev concluded the results of 2018 in relations between two countries at a press conference, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
According to him, the year was very fruitful – Russia and Uzbekistan managed to increase mutual trade turnover up to $ 3.5 billion and agree on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the country.
“The most significant event of the outgoing year in the Russian-Uzbek relations was the State visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan which took place in October. It opened completely new horizons for bilateral cooperation,” Mr. Tyurdenev pointed out.
Another important step, the ambassador noted, is holding the first Russian-Uzbek Forum of interregional cooperation. Over a thousand representatives of business and regional authorities participated in it.
