Uzbekistan supplies gas to Fergana valley through Kazakhstan to cover the deficiency

On December 31, “Uztransgaz” began to supply gas to Fergana valley through Kazakhstan to cover the insufficiency, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the statement of the head of the company Bakhodir Eshmuratov.

This became possible thanks to the agreements reached with the national gas operator of Kazakhstan “KazTransGas”. The agreement was signed on December 29, 2018. According to the document, up to 1 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported through the Kazakh territory in the winter period.

"The new year begins with very good news for the residents of Fergana valley. Thanks to the agreements reached, now there will be no problems with gas in the valley," chairman of the “Uztransgaz” Mr. Eshmuratov noted.

According to him, the company now has the opportunity to organize stable gas supplies to the population and enterprises of the valley with high pressure.

Transit deliveries will be carried out through the gas pipeline “Gazli-Shymkent” and “Bukhara gas-bearing township-Tashkent-Bishkek-Almaty”.

It is worth recalling that in recent years due to the growth of consumption and deterioration of the gas transmission system in Fergana valley, especially in winter period, problems with the provision of gas to the population were observed.
