Minister of Finance: Inflation rate in the consumer sector is expected to be around 15% in 2019
The inflation rate in the consumer sector is expected to be around 15% in 2019, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov said.
“In general, the level of inflation in the consumer sector in the year 2018 amounted to 14.3%. I think that this figure will not exceed 15% in 2019,” noted Kuchkarov.
During the last four months of 2018, the growth rate of consumer prices of goods and services was 7.6%. While the commodity prices in December 2018 increased by an average of 2.3% and 13.8% compared to the beginning of the year, this group index was slightly lower than the annual inflation rate in the consumer sector (14.3%).
In order to stabilize the pricing policy, to prevent the overcrowding, Deputy Prime Minister proposed to make everyday changes in cooperation with the largest retail chains. He said that when the price goes up, the factors that affect it will be studied and the negative circumstances will be eliminated.
