Mirziyoyev’s Special Representative for Central Asia will be appointed
Cooperation of Uzbekistan with the countries of Central Asia on issues of security and other regional matters will be intensified, the draft 2019 State Program states.
It is noted that the draft normative-legal document will be developed in this regard.
In compliance with the document:
Uzbekistan’s foreign policy aimed at strengthening good neighborly relations with the countries of the region, resolving challenging tasks and ensuring security in Central Asia will be further developed;
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will establish a post of Special Representative for the development of cooperation with Central Asian countries.
Deadline for execution of the project is July 20, 2019 and the responsible bodies for realizing it are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Security Service and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies.
