Uzbekistan, Tajikistan to give mutual railway discounts in order to increase freight and passenger transportation
The leadership of the JSC Uzbekistan Railways and the state-owned unitary enterprise “Rohi ohani Tojikiston” signed a protocol with intent to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, the press service of Uzbekistan Railways reported.
The sides held a meeting during which company leaders discussed an increase in the volume of transit cargo on a contractual basis, as well as bilateral discounts in 2019.
Each country intends to create new opportunities to increase freight and passenger traffic on the railway.
It is worth recalling that in 2018, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan provided each other with preferences for a number of services, including discounts on import-export transportation, and also created comfortable conditions for the transport of passengers.
