More than 400 Wi-Fi zones to be set up in 2019 throughout the Republic of Uzbekistan
Head of the department at the development of information technologies and communications ministry, Sirojiddin Usmanov said that over 400 Wi-Fi points will be created in Uzbekistan this year. Kun.uz correspondent reported about it.
Reportedly, it is planned to establish 400 Wi-Fi zones attracting the JSC “Uzbektelekom” and other private providers. All points will be connected to the Internet via fiber-optic cables.
“In addition, it is envisaged to introduce a system of user identification,” he said.
It should be recalled that the project “Tourism Development Concept for the period up to 2025” considers creating free Wi-Fi zones at least at 50 tourist facilities in each region of Uzbekistan.
For information, Metrotelecom TM is still continuing its pilot experience in introducing Internet services at the Tashkent subway.
