“Fraud embezzled 18 million soums at the Tashkent Automobile and Road Construction Institute” – the Prosecutor-General's Office

Prosecutor's office of Mirabad district has launched a criminal investigation into the case, the press service of the Prosecutor-General's Office reports. 
 
Within the framework of the investigation, it was identified that a Chairman of the Tender Commission at the Tashkent Automobile and Road Construction Institute T. Sh. embezzled 18,000,000 soums. Particularly, he purchased 360 units of beds for the use of the Institute’s dormitory spending more 18 million soums compared to the real market price. In fact, the Institute has been offered 915,000 soums for one bed in accordance with the conducted tender.  
 
On this case, T. Sh. was found guilty under article 167 (Part 2, Paragraph “g”) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway, the report said.
