Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev thanked the Uzbek authorities for their position on the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

“Our relations are developing not only in the economic sphere, but also in the political field, which is more important. We are always grateful to the fraternal people of Uzbekistan for supporting the position of Azerbaijan in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Such a fair position is consistent with the spirit of friendly, fraternal relations between our countries and peoples,” he said today speaking at a meeting with the participation of the business circles of the two countries in Tashkent.

The Minister stressed that a “high level of political relations” established between the countries are based on centuries-old friendship of the nations.

The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh has continued since 1988. The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories. Uzbekistan has repeatedly advocated the settlement of the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
