A deputy director of one of the colleges in Tashkent was caught red-handed by employees of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate upon receiving $1,500, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“According to a message received by the Sergeli district prosecutor's office, on February 6, at around 12:00, a 37-year-old deputy director of a college Ilhom T. was detained while receiving $1,500 illegally,” the police department noted.
He promised a 33-year-old woman to obtain a college diploma for her brother through his “contacts”.
On this fact, a case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
In addition, law enforcement officers encountered another fact of fraud on the part of a college employee.
“In June 2018, 43-year-old Akram B., who worked as a college teacher, promised a resident of Samarkand region Isomiddin Kh. to help with his son’s admission to Tashkent State University of Economics,” Kun.uz correspondent said.
Akram took from the victim $5,000 for “help” and spent them on his own needs. Isomiddin appealed to the Internal Affairs bodies to sort the matter.
On this fact, a case has been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, the suspect Akram B. was detained. An investigation is underway.
