Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov becomes First Deputy Minister of Energy retaining his post as the head of “Uzatom”
Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Energy. At the same time, he preserves the post of Director General of the Agency for Development of Nuclear Energy “Uzatom” under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, the agency reported.
In 2001, Mr. Mirzamakhmudov (born in 1979) graduated from the University of Alabama (USA) and in 2005 – the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.
Previously, he worked as head of the Information-Analytical Department for development of the fuel-energy complex at the Cabinet of Ministers. He has held the posts of Deputy Chairman of the SJSC “Uzkimyosanoat” and Deputy Minister of Economy. Since June 2018, he has been heading the agency “Uzatom”.
For information, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan was established by a presidential decree on February 1, 2019. It is responsible for the entire range of issues of organization and regulation of fuel-energy complex. Prior to him, the Ministry of Energy was headed by the former Deputy PM Alisher Sultonov.
