Samarkand branch of the sports university of Russia to admit over 150 students
The Samarkand branch of the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism will admit more than 150 students for full-time study in the academic year 2019/2020. It is reported by the press service of the republican Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports.
Students will be trained in such areas as: volleyball, basketball, handball, football, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, swimming, paddling and canoeing. Directions of learning will gradually expand.
“Samarkand is the first branch of our university abroad. In order to ensure successful operation of this university, we will attract here experienced and qualified specialists. In addition, our students will practice at Russian sports bases,” rector of the Russian University Tamara Mikhailova said.
It is noted that the branch will train young people not only from Uzbekistan, but also from all over Central Asia.
The base for the branch of a foreign university will be the recently renovated playpen of the Samarkand specialized boarding school of Olympic reserve. 9,7 billion soums were spent on reconstruction of this building.
