Uzbekistan competes for the right to host Asian Games-2030
President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Umid Akhmadjanov held talks with President of the Asian Olympic Council Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad al-Sabah.
AIBA President Gafur Rakhimov also took part in the dialogue. The parties discussed the possibility of holding the Asian Games-2030 in two cities of Uzbekistan - Tashkent and Samarkand.
“The issues of building sports facilities, the Olympic camp for the Asian Games, the subtleties associated with logistics, the mechanism of successful events at the highest level, the organization of a convenient route and transport, side events, broadcasting and much more, were discussed,” the NOC said.
In addition to Uzbekistan, Qatar, India and the Philippines claim to host the XXI Asian Games in 2030.
Ahmad Al-Fahad al-Sabah said that Uzbekistan will present the project of holding the Asian Games-2030 at one of the Council’s Assemblies.
During the dialogue, Ahmad Al-Fahad said that our country has not only all the chances for holding the Asian Games-2030, but also advantages, unlike the three above-mentioned candidates, the NOC points out.
One of the main advantages is that the Asian Games have never been held in Uzbekistan. In addition, the competition in the country is an extension of the geography of the Asian Games.
An important role is also played by the reforms in sport, carried out in Uzbekistan.
