Speaking on Thursday at a ceremony dedicated to International Women's Day, President Mirziyoyev said that in the next 5 years preschool educational institutions will cover all children in the country.
“We set a goal - to cover all children of kindergarten age in the system of preschool education in the next 4-5 years. It is our duty before women, children of our country, and more importantly, our sacred task for the sake of bright future, and we will definitely do it,” the president said.
According to him, 7,104 kindergartens are currently operating in the country. In the past two years alone, 2121 kindergartens were built, which received 243 thousand children. “Thus, the coverage of children by preschool educational institutions over the past year and a half has grown by 12% and now stands at 38%,” Mirziyoyev noted.
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Preschool Education of Uzbekistan was created in 2017 by presidential decree. The document notes that over the past 20 years, the number of state preschool educational institutions in the country has decreased by more than 45%, and the coverage of children by them at that time was about 30%.
