1 million books gifted to Namangan at the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Today, on March 9, a series of events are being held in Namangan to fulfill the tasks set during the visit of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the region.

As Nampravda.uz reports, the largest event “We make Namangan the most reader region” has been launched in Namangan on the Boulevard of Poets. The ceremony was attended by state and public figures, regional leaders, prominent writers and poets, talented and active young people of the region.

“This year we will be gifted 1 million books. The regional sports schools will be provided with new equipment, music and arts schools will be granted new musical instruments,” deputy governor of the Namangan region Pakhriddin Matkarimov said.

Deputy Adviser to the President Farkhod Makhmudov presented the regional deputy governor of Namangan with a certificate of accepting 1 million books as a gift.

The first batch of 25,000 copies of literary books has already arrived in Namangan. The Union of Writers and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan will hand them over to school libraries.
