The President familiarized himself with the production of rock products at the “Marmarobod” enterprise in Nurota district, the presidential press service reported.
The head of state has repeatedly noted the need to study requirements of the market, to organize production of marketable products, which is a guarantee to the quality of goods and sustainable activities of any enterprise. In particular, in recent years, the demand for decorative stone has increased in both domestic and foreign markets. And Nurota district is rich in large deposits of this raw material.
In compliance with instructions of the President, which was announced during his previous trip to Navoi region, the State Unitary Enterprise “Marmarobod” was organized. At the expense of 10 billion soums, a modern production of 6 hectares was built in the steppe, equipment from abroad worth $655,5 thousand was installed in it. The company is capable of processing 24,000 square meters of granite per year. Here 40 people have been employed. All of this is the only first stage of the project.
At the second stage, it is planned to adjust extraction and processing of natural stone according to a cluster system. This will expand the assortment, produce 3 million square meters of products per year for 250 billion soums. Also, it will increase annual exports to $10 million. It is planned to create about 1,500 job vacancies.
The head of state, getting acquainted with the products of the enterprise, noted its quality, which is not inferior to world analogues. The President of Uzbekistan called on manufacturers to reduce production costs and bring them to foreign markets through the use of efficient technologies, as well as reducing transport costs. The need for training personnel capable of deep processing decorative breeds at the level of international standards, the use of domestic-made building materials in construction work has been emphasized.
It also hosted a presentation of projects for production of building materials for 2019–2020, setting up industrial production of marble sculptures together with Chinese investors and development of the village Gazgan in Nurota district in accordance with its master plan.
The President proposed to build a railway here for developing the territorial infrastructure and industry.
