Press conference on Ziyorat Tourism organized in Tashkent
The National Press Center of Uzbekistan hosted a press conference entitled “Prospects for development of ziyorat (pilgrimage) tourism in Uzbekistan”.
The conference was organized by the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan. Attendees of the event were provided information on the implementation of comprehensive measures for development of tourism industry, which ensures accelerated development of the regions, increasing incomes and quality of people’s life, as well as investment attractiveness of our country.
At the press conference, Uzbekistan’s achievements in ziyorat (pilgrimage) tourism, namely, introduction of a visa-free regime up to 30 days for citizens of 64 countries, introduction of pilgrim visa, issued for up to 2 months to foreign citizens who visit to make a pilgrimage, to study cultural-historical and religious-spiritual heritage and traditions of Uzbekistan, implementation of halal standards in public catering and restaurants of Uzbekistan and others were discussed.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of the first International Ziyorat Tourism Forum, Bukhara Declaration on recognition of Uzbekistan as one of the centers of ziyorat tourism was imked in February 2019.
