CIS defense ministers to meet in Russia on May 5
Defense ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states will hold a meeting in the Russian Federation on May 5. This was announced on Friday by the Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev after the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers, TASS reports.
“On May 5, a meeting of defense ministers of the CIS countries will take place in Russia,” Lebedev said.
He also said that in the near future a number of events under the auspices of the CIS, including a meeting of the government heads, will take place. “On May 31, a meeting of the Council of government heads of the Commonwealth will be held in Ashgabat. A meeting of the leaders of our special services will be held in Dushanbe in mid-May, Lebedev informed. Literally, in two weeks, the spring session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly will take place, and a delegation of the parliament of Uzbekistan will participate there, which recently joined it”.
Among other events, he noted the forum of scientific and creative intelligentsia scheduled to be held on May 15-16 in Ashgabat.
