Earlier, it was reported that starting from April 1, an automatic registration of all mobile devices used in the networks of GSM-operators in Uzbekistan would begin.

From subscribers who are already using their mobile devices, no action is required for registration - system operators and telecom operators will do everything. There will be no charge for automatic device registration.

The system of accounting and registration of devices will limit the use of:

counterfeit devices - i.e., devices in which the IMEI code does not correspond to the actual device model;

devices in the black list, got into it because of theft or loss;

devices that have not passed the procedure of customs clearance.

Head of the prospective development department for telecommunications networks at the Ministry of Development of IT and Communications Timur Mashanpin told the TV channel Uzbekistan 24 that the system is being implemented in stages, so the ministry decided not to block those phones whose IMEI codes do not correspond to the actual device model.

Only those devices that are blacklisted as a result of theft or loss will be blocked. Mashanpin said that if the phone is stolen or lost, then its owner should contact the police department and inform his operator. The police department will send a request to the Ministry of development of IT, and they will add the device to the black list - it will be possible to make only calls to emergency services.

According to Mashanpin, after the automatic registration is over, the use of gray phones will also be limited.

IMEI-code of the mobile phone can be identified by dialing *#06# on the device and by checking it on the UZIMEI.UZ website.

118 mobile operators from 43 countries, including Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, UK and Venezuela are connected to the GSMA base.

Information exchange with the GSMA will limit the use of devices stolen or lost in other states, in Uzbekistan, and vice versa - it will be impossible to use blacklisted devices in Uzbekistan in the networks of GSMA member companies.
