Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held negotiations in a narrow format

As reported earlier, on April 14, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit.

According to the press service of the head of state, the official meeting of the high guest took place on April 15 at the Kuksaroy residence.

After the ceremony, the heads of state held a meeting in a narrow format.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Uzbekistan is a consistent continuation of the political dialogue that has intensified in recent years.

“We highly appreciate the fact that your first state visit as President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was made to Uzbekistan. In this we see a clear manifestation of commitment to further deepen the strategic partnership between our countries. For us, Kazakhstan is a close neighbor and strategic partner. We are pleased with the positive dynamics of cooperation in all spheres,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The President of Kazakhstan thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the invitation to Uzbekistan and expressed confidence that the negotiations will be fruitful.

“I fully agree with your assessment of the quality and practical content of cooperation between our countries. You, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, and the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, have taken interstate relations to a completely new level. I consider it my task to maintain and further strengthen these ties. Kazakhstan highly appreciates the cooperation with fraternal Uzbekistan,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.

At the meeting, prospects for further intensifying bilateral relations of friendship and good neighborliness, cooperation in trade, transport, tourism sectors and others were discussed, an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest took place.

The sides also considered the issues of strengthening peace and security in the region, helping to resolve the situation in Afghanistan.
