South Korean President’s visit to Uzbekistan completed

President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in completed his state visit to Uzbekistan. Today, the head of state took a flight from Samarkand, UzA reports.

The visit of the Korean leader took place on April 18-21.

On the first day, Moon Jae-in visited Inha University in Tashkent, where he got acquainted with the presentation of a telemedicine project implemented in cooperation with Uzbekistan and South Korea.

The main events of the visit happened on April 19 at the Kuksaroy residence, where prospects for expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in the trade-economic, investment, financial-technical and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.

Following the summit talks, relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea have risen to a completely new stage in the history of mutual relations – the level of a special strategic partnership.

During the visit, important agreements were reached and documents worth over $12 billion were signed.

President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in visited the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where he delivered a speech to members of the parliament.

Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Moon Jae-in also took part in the opening ceremony of the Uzbek-South Korean business forum held at the Uzexpocentre.

The heads of states, together with their spouses, took part in a concert organized in honor of the visit to the palace of the international forums “Uzbekistan” with participation of Uzbek and Korean artists.

On April 20, a solemn opening ceremony of the House of Korean Culture and Art took place in Tashkent. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in together with their spouses opened this palace of friendship and culture.

On the same day, Moon Jae-in arrived in the city of Samarkand. The presidents, accompanied by their spouses, visited the historical sights of Samarkand.
