New technopark to be created on the territory of former TAPOiCH in Tashkent

On the territory of the former TAPOiCH, it is planned to create a technopark for manufacturing of products in demand in the economy, this follows from the draft presidential decree, which was developed by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

It is all about unused production areas and territories of JSC “Tashkent Mechanical Plant”. Priority will be given to the production on organizing the release of new types of products on the list, in which there are 56 items. These include mobile heat pumps, powder paint, acrylic polymers, synthetic rubber, baby diapers, adhesives, food trolleys, corn starch and much more.

It is planned to spend 50 billion soums from the centralized funds provided for in the 2019 Investment Program for the construction of necessary infrastructure in free economic and small industrial zones.

To support the new production facility, it is planned to provide guarantees from July 1 in the amount of no more than 50% of the loan for the project and reimbursement of the interest rate of loans of commercial banks at a level of up to 5%.

From the same date it is proposed to introduce a new order:

- posting government customers on a special government procurement information portal, as well as intentions to purchase imported goods to ensure the participation of national suppliers and guarantee pricing transparency;

- if there are three or more participants - domestic producers, government procurement may, at the option of the customer, be carried out among domestic manufacturers;

- granting the right to customers to conclude when purchasing products according to the list of special contracts that provide investors with guarantees of purchasing products through the public procurement system for two years from the start of delivery, subject to compliance with quality requirements, agreed technical and price parameters.
