Uzbekistan created a database of more than 10,000 highly-qualified compatriots living abroad
The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis held a meeting to discuss the work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the first quarter of 2019. In the course of debates, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov delivered a speech. The MFA reports about it.
As Deputy FM states, in October last year, certain work was done by embassies on working with compatriots on the basis of the State Concept.
More than 100 events, video-conferences, briefings and roundtables were organized by embassies to establish close relationship with compatriots and provide them with information on ongoing reforms in the country.
As a result, a database comprising of over 10,000 highly-qualified compatriots was created.
In the first quarter of this year, the MFA focused on the economic diplomacy, attraction of foreign investments into the country's economy, the growth of exports and tourist inflow, in accordance with the declaration of the 2019 as the year of "Active investment and social development".
In total, embassies worked out 211 projects worth $5.19 billion and submitted to regions during the visits. It is expected that by the end of 2019, 103 projects worth $516.8 million and in 2020, 72 projects worth $2,34 billion will be implemented.
