President Mirziyoyev receives Russian FM Lavrov
Today, May 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, who is on a working visit in Uzbekistan as part of the 11th meeting of MOU on Sub-regional Drug Control Cooperation, the press service of the head of state said.
The meeting addressed issues of practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, and further expansion of productive cooperation.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and FM Sergey Lavrov also discussed topical issues of the international and regional agenda, including cooperation within the UN, the SCO, the CIS and other structures. Promotion of the peace process in Afghanistan was also considered.

The parties underscored mutual commitment to further strengthening the relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance, as well as expanding multifaceted cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Russia in the interests of ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.
