Uzbek investor to help launch a cotton processing plant in Kazakhstan

A cotton processing plant is under construction in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, LS reports.
According to the regional department of entrepreneurship and industrial-innovative development, the enterprise is located in the Shardara district and will be commissioned in 2021 at full capacity.
“The projected plant worth 896 million tenge (about $2.3 million) will produce 20,000 tons of products per year. 30% of the funds has been invested by an investor from Uzbekistan,” the department added.
It is planned that 3,600 tons of cotton will be exported to the CIS countries and Europe. The first deliveries are expected in 2020.
