Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, at an interview with UzA, spoke about the issues raised during the talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to him, an exchange of views took place on issues such as cooperation in the international market, ways to attract foreign direct investment in Uzbekistan, the use of technological capabilities, and the exchange of experience in the field of agriculture.
“Mississippi has significant potential in agriculture. We can establish links with farmers in Uzbekistan and boost cooperation in the supply of their products to the international market.
The United States trusts Uzbekistan. Your country carries out an active foreign policy, provides ample opportunities for business development.
Last year, the company Silver Leaf International USA signed an agreement with the relevant departments of your country to establish a joint venture in the field of agriculture. The new joint venture specializes in the cultivation of cotton on the basis of advanced technologies, the processing of raw materials and the manufacturing of finished competitive products.
We also conduct our activities in the fish industry. In this direction, we can exchange with your country equipment, technologies as well as experience and make a huge contribution to the development of the two countries’ markets.
Uzbekistan has extensive experience and has great opportunities in agriculture. In your country, serious steps are being taken to develop agribusiness. We intend to cooperate with universities and colleges of Uzbekistan in this direction.
As part of our visit to Uzbekistan, we intend to visit the Tashkent, Jizzakh, Samarkand and Navoi regions and get acquainted with the economic as well as investment opportunities of your country,” Phil Bryant said.
