Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates President of Azerbaijan on Republic Day

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent greetings to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the national holiday, the Republic Day, the presidential press service reported.

Republic Day honours the date on which the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was founded on 28 May 1918. Since 1990, 28 May - Republic Day is celebrated as a national holiday.

For information Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan on October 2, 1995 by signing a relevant Protocol in Moscow.
