PhAMA delegation to visit Uzbekistan to discuss issues of cooperation

On May 30, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, Ravshan Usmanov, met with the Executive Director of the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA) Yu Heng, the MFA press service said.
During the conversation, the Malaysian side was presented detailed information about the pharmaceutical industry of the republic, measures being taken to develop the sphere, ensure the availability and free circulation of medicines and medical products, as well as activities of the Nukus-pharm, Zomin-pharm, Kosonsoy-pharm, Sirdaryo-pharm, Boysun-pharm, Bustonlik-pharm and Parkent-pharm free economic zones.
The parties discussed issues of further development of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, the study of the Malaysian experience in the development of interaction with multinational companies in the field of research.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of PhAMA representatives to Uzbekistan to discuss issues of cooperation in the following areas:
- attracting world-renowned pharmaceutical companies to conduct research in Uzbekistan, as well as exploring the possibility of organizing the production of medicines;
- introducing the Malaysian experience in the field of cooperation with foreign private pharmaceutical companies on the basis of public-private partnership;
- organizing joint training courses and seminars for representatives of the pharmaceutical industry with the involvement of foreign highly qualified specialists.
PhAMA was founded in 1972 and unites all large multinational companies operating in Malaysia, as well as local pharmaceutical joint ventures.
