Shavkat Mirziyoyev: I trusted Murodov
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev delivered a speech at the 20th plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis on 21 June.
At his speech, the president criticized the former head of the prosecutor's office.
Speaking about the criminal case against the former Prosecutor General, Shavkat Mirziyoev said that the leadership of the institution “received 100 thousand and 50 thousand dollars in bribes”.
“What's this about? Everyone changes when takes office. Regional prosecutors, khokims receive $100,000, $50,000 in bribes. All tax authorities and prosecutors are corrupt. I know it well.
I trusted Murodov.
How can I attract investors if the prosecutor's office has corruption? The investor asks a businessman, not a deputy or a government official, about the state of affairs. What does the businessman say? He says prosecutors and ministers are corrupt!
All the former heads of law enforcement agencies will get a long term imprisonment,” the president said
