Central Bank of Uzbekistan: Average amount of savings per capita in the country is estimated at $1,134
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has announced how much money do citizens keep in foreign currency.
The survey showed that 54% of respondents have savings in foreign currency. The average amount of savings per capita is estimated at $1,134.
Thus, based on statistics of the working-age population and calculations, total savings in foreign currency in the country are estimated at $10.2 billion.
The results of the survey will be discussed with IMF experts in the course of the next mission on external sector statistics, in order to improve the balance of payments statistics and the international investment position.
