Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan to boost cooperation in tourism
On the sidelines of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee’s 43rd session in Baku, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Nagiev.
During the meeting, the parties praised the increased flow of tourists between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, reached agreement to boost cooperation in this area.
“Silk Road” International University of Tourism, established last year in Samarkand, and Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management signed a memorandum of understanding.
It should be noted that within the framework of the session the World Heritage Committee will consider the reports of Uzbekistan on the efforts made to preserve cultural heritage in Shakhrisabz, Samarkand and Bukhara.
