Uzbekistan to create a Trading House in Malaysia
On July 9, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov held talks with the founder of the largest wholesale mall in Malaysia, GM Klang Wholesale City, Lim Kok.
According to the press service of the MFA, the parties discussed the issues of further developing trade and economic cooperation by increasing the volume of exports of Uzbek products to the South Eastern country.
Lim Kok expressed interest in establishing ties with major exporters of the republic and voiced readiness to provide comprehensive support for the entry of Uzbek products into the Malaysian market.
Following the negotiations, the sides reached agreements on:
- the provision by the Malaysian side of a one-year free of charge space in the central pavilion of GM Klang Wholesale City center for opening a trading house in the form of a showroom of exported products of Uzbekistan;
- the organization of the visit of Lim Kok to Uzbekistan in October 2019 to consider the possibility of creating a similar large shopping center in the republic.
GM Klang brands itself as the most comprehensive one-stop wholesale city in South East Asia. It is a massive wholesale shopping mall and business center located in Bandar Botanic district of Klang town.
