Accident in the Takhiatash TPP: Khorezm and part of Karakalpakstan left without electricity
Today, July 18, a major accident occurred at the Takhiatash Thermal Power Plant (TPP), Kun.uz correspondent reports.
As a result of the accident, Khorezm region and part of Karakalpakstan were left without electricity. Currently, experts and relevant organizations are working on the site to restore the TPP operation.
“The power unit No.8 was disconnected by the technological protection system. After 12 seconds, the system also turned off the power unit No.7 and the turbine unit No.1. At 10:59 am, the turbine unit has already started working,” the Ministry of Energy noted.
Now everything is being done to quickly launch the 7th and 8th power units.
“The reasons for the accident that are currently being established. There is an assumption that the shutdown of power units occurred due to damage to the power lines,” the press service concluded.
