Shavkat Mirziyoyev expresses condolences to IAEA leadership on the passing of Yukiya Amano
The President of Uzbekistan expressed his condolences to the leadership of the IAEA, the press service of the head of state said.
“Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent sincere condolences to the Acting Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mary Alice Hayward on the death of IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano. The head of our state expressed words of sympathy and support for the family and friends of the deceased,” the message says.
The International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano, a former Japanese diplomat who promoted the peaceful use of nuclear technology, died aged 72.
