383 college buildings across Uzbekistan to be transformed into schools
In accordance with the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, 383 college buildings, out of existing 1,469 throughout Uzbekistan, will be transformed into secondary schools, the Ministry of Public Education reports.
Thanks to implementation of the initiative, additional 224,000 training places will be created in the 2019-2020 academic year.
In order to effectively organize transformation of colleges into schools, working groups have been established in the regions, the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The working groups are tasked to organize work on the transfer of buildings and structures, territories, furniture, training laboratories and sports equipment to the public education system.
Until August 10, 2019, working groups should take measures to reorganize colleges into schools by providing their buildings and structures to general educational institutions with a workload ratio of 2 or higher.
Measures will also be taken to prepare schools transferred to the public education system for the new school year.
The Ministry of Public Education has formed a headquarters and territorial working groups for the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks set.
At the same time, the Ministry calls on members of the Supervisory Board and the public to take control of the transfer of buildings and structures, as well as the property of colleges to the public education system.
