Uzbekistan to start growing lentils and soybeans based on Kazakhstan’s experience
On August 19-20, in Nur-Sultan, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and his Kazakh counterpart Saparkhan Omarov will approve a “road map” aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sphere. This was reported during the conversation of Jamshid Khodjayev with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Gulmira Isaeva, the ministerial press service reports.
The parties also discussed such issues as growing lentils and soybeans in the Tashkent region and the Fergana Valley, conducting research on cultivating wheat and barley varieties appropriate to the conditions of Uzbekistan, digitizing agriculture and sharing experience in this direction.
Prior to this, on June 22, during the FAO conference in Rome, the parties exchanged views on the issues related to the agro-industry and the export of goods. The sides agreed to prepare several projects within the framework of the FAO regional conference to be held in 2020 in Uzbekistan.
Currently, members of the working group on agricultural development from Kazakhstan are exploring the farming conditions of our country.
