Shavkat Mirziyoyev harshly criticizes regional khokim of Fergana

On August 2, a video-conference meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President to discuss the analysis of ongoing work on the development of small business and entrepreneurship.

During the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his opinion on demolitions and criticized the situation in the Fergana region.

“You know how Internet users commented on the demolitions in the Rishtan district? We allocate money to implement the “Prosperous village” program. But what are you busy with? People cry, commenting on the situation, and there is a photograph of the president next to criticisms, not yours. You, dishonestly, walk and say “demolish, destroy”. Before demolishing a building, use your mind. You disgrace the country before the eyes of the international community,” the President said.

The head of state also noted that Uzbekistan has just eliminated child labor, and now officials have created problems with demolitions.

“You all, unscrupulous officials, listen: when I allocated the money, I said that Rishtan should be modernized, but with the consent of the locals there. It was necessary to fully satisfy their needs.

Well I can understand that Ermanov came to the administration recently. But what are you doing Ganiyev? Ruziyev? You are traitors. How can I implement development projects with you? When do we achieve practical results? Never. Because I'm even afraid to entrust you with something important. You do not have knowledge, you do not read books and normative-legal acts signed by the president,” Mirziyoyev noted.

It should be recalled that on July 27-28, 13,562 workers from all districts and cities of the region were attracted to landscaping and construction works in the Rishtan district of the Fergana region. The regional khokim Shukhrat Ganiyev, the prosecutor Sadriddin Turdiyev, the head of the police department Rakhmat Mamatov watched the course of the “hashar”, they visited the each object and talked with the population.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, commenting on the above situation, called what was happening a direct violation of labor legislation and the mass involvement of people in forced labor.
