Shavkat Mirziyoyev to khokim of Kashkadarya region: What would you do if your house was demolished?

On August 2, under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan, a video-conference meeting was held to analyze the ongoing work on the development of small business and entrepreneurship.

During the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his opinion on demolitions and criticized the situation in the Fergana, Khorezm and Kashkadarya regions.

“An unscrupulous official Ruziyev, who once led the Ministry of Agriculture, has been working in Kashkadarya for 5 years. Read the comments on social media after the visit of the SSS chairman to the region. One of your subordinates quarreled with locals and disgraced me all over the world. You do not have worthy personnel. When I am trying to develop openness and strengthen the reputation of the authorities, you are reducing everything to rubble,” the head of state said.

The president asked the khokim why he was demolishing normal buildings.

“You don’t have a good head on your shoulders, why are you demolishing a normal building? Now, if your house was demolished, what would you do? You are unscrupulous, when did I instruct you to demolish the buildings? I told you to get permission from residents and pay all compensation. You had to prepare a draft with Mr. Zokirov, coordinate it with the Prime Minister, and then demolish the buildings. I gave such an assignment,” Mirziyoyev noted.
