Where will the convicts from Jasliq prison be transferred? 

Convicts serving their sentences at the Jasliq prison will be transferred to colonies located close to the place of residence of the prisoners, Deputy Interior Minister Bakhrombek Adilov said.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs was instructed to locate the convicts in the colonies near to their place of residence within one month in the prescribed manner. We are ready to fulfill this order,” Adilov said at a press conference. 

He also noted that the Ministry of Interior may consider the possibility of allowing journalists to the territory of the Jasliq prison.

It should be recalled that recently Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on liquidation of the Jasliq prison.

According to the decree, the buildings, structures and property of the specialized colony are transferred to remand prison No.2 of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
