Shavkat Mirziyoyev reminds khokims of inadmissibility of forced labor during cotton campaign 

On August 12, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a video-conference meeting on the issues of increasing the export potential of economic sectors and territories, their effective use, attracting direct investment, and expanding the volume of production localization.

Regional khokim of Kashkadarya Zafar Ruziyev, at his speech, said that this year the harvest is quite promising and all conditions are created for its collection.

“This year, while cultivating cotton, we did not encounter water and fertilizer problems. We received 14 billion soums for pest control,” the regional khokim of Kashkadarya explained.

After Ruziyev’s words, the president reminded all khokims that employees of budgetary organizations should not be involved in cotton picking this year.

“When collecting cotton this year, not a single school or institute — no budget organization at all — will be involved, you have to remember this,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Mirziyoyev as saying.
