US Under Secretary of State David Hale to visit Uzbekistan

US Under Secretary of State David Hale will visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on August 20-23, the State Department press release said.

“In Nur-Sultan, Under Secretary of State Hale will meet with senior officials to discuss the enhanced strategic partnership between the US and Kazakhstan, and our current close cooperation on bilateral and international issues,” the statement reads.  

Then Hale and the Foreign Ministers of the five Central Asian countries will hold a meeting on ensuring the prosperity and security of the region in the C5+1 format. 

After that, he will head to Tashkent for a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which the US will demonstrate support for the president’s reforms and help strengthen relations between the two states, including in the field of security and trade, the press release says.
