How many percent of Uzbek citizens denied entry visas to the US in 2018?

More than half of Uzbek citizens applying for a US visa are denied.
In 2018, 62% of Uzbeks who applied for temporary residence in the United States were denied visas. This is the highest indicator in Central Asia and the second most negative in the former Soviet Union.
Kazakhstanis have the highest chance of obtaining a non-immigrant visa to the US among the Central Asian countries – only 39% of Kazakh citizens were denied entry visas last year:
1. Kazakhstan – 39%
2. Tajikistan – 54%
3. Kyrgyzstan – 59%
4. Turkmenistan – 53%
5. Uzbekistan – 62%
In the fiscal year 2018, among the former Soviet Union countries, citizens of Russia and Latvia were least denied a US visa – 15%, and citizens of Georgia and Uzbekistan most – 62%.

These figures, which are available on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website, apply for a B1/B2 visa. This type of American visa allows temporary entry into the United States for business (B1) or tourism (B2) purposes.
On average, around 6 million people are issued B1/B2 visas each year.
Last year, 7392 citizens of Uzbekistan received this type of non-immigrant visa.
