Shavkat Mirziyoyev plans to visit Russia
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is planning a visit to Russia. Preparations for the visit was discussed at a meeting on September 4 chaired by the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
“The heads of the involved departments and ministries have outlined the main guidelines and tasks in preparation for the top-level visit to the Russian Federation, aimed at developing new project proposals of high profitability and significance for the integrated development of the national economy,” the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade said in a statement.
Earlier, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin reported that the visit of the Uzbek leader to Moscow could take place by the end of 2019.
According to Oreshkin, mutual trade between Russia and Uzbekistan over the past two years has grown by 20%. This is one of the highest rates among the CIS countries.
