Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates President of Armenia on Independence Day

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the national holiday – Independence Day, the presidential press service reports.

The Independence Day is the main state holiday in Armenia. It is celebrated on September 21 – the date, when the people of the country voted in a referendum in 1991 to proclaim independence from the Soviet Union.

Uzbekistan and Armenia established diplomatic relations on October 27, 1995 by signing a protocol in Moscow.
