Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Valentina Matviyenko

On October 2, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council, who is in our country on an official visit.

Greeting the guest, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on her re-election as the chairperson of the Russian parliament's upper house and wished her success in her responsible activity.

It was noted with great satisfaction that today friendly relations, strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia have reached a high level.

In turn, Valentina Matviyenko expressed sincere gratitude to the President for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of bilateral relations, as well as active participation of the parliaments of the two countries in implementation of high-level agreements.

Valentina Matviyenko confirmed her determination to consistently develop inter-parliamentary contacts with the aim of strengthening multifaceted Uzbek-Russian relations.
