On October 8, a Council meeting, chaired by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, was held. The event was attended by the heads of ministries, organizations, commercial banks, investment managers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sh. Fayziyev.
At the meeting, the issue of preparation for Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Azerbaijan on October 14-15 to attend the VII Summit of the Turkic Council was considered.
Participants of the meeting studied the possibilities of expanding investment, trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. In the course of detailed analysis, it was identified that there is a huge potential for expanding cooperation with Azerbaijani partners, including in new promising areas. Implementation of a number of projects has been developed. It was noted that the economies of the two countries complement each other and that the great interest of potential Azerbaijani partners will open up new opportunities for joint investment and trade projects.
In order to intensify the process, strengthen cooperation with investors and contracting partners, as well as discuss new opportunities for cooperation, a proposal was made to support the visit of the heads of ministries, agencies and commercial banks to Azerbaijan.
