Interior Ministry official: Citizens will soon be able to get a passport at their place of temporary residence
Today, a press conference was held in the conference hall of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications with participation of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
During the event, representatives of the Interior Ministry spoke about the latest changes in the sphere of the passport system. In particular, Nodir Ziyoyev, First Deputy Head of the Department for Migration and Citizenship Registration, said that people will soon be able to get a passport at the place of temporary residence.
“According to the presidential decree on measures to create a system for issuing a biometric passport for citizens of Uzbekistan traveling abroad, and modernizing the biometric passport system of the Republic, currently, citizens get a passport at their place of permanent residence. We intend to make appropriate changes and addenda to regulatory legal acts so that people, perhaps, will be able to get a passport at their place of temporary residence,” he said.
