Ahmed Aliyev: Former SSS General planned to assassinate leadership of Uzbekistan
Head of the “Aliyev zargari” Gold Center Ahmed Aliyev, a seven-year prisoner in the “Jasliq” prison, said at a press conference on October 21 that former SSS officials were planning a coup in Uzbekistan.
“When I and my staff were arrested in 2012, everyone linked it to the Gold Center. Yes, it is the cause, but the secondary one. The first reason was political. In 2011-2012, they were preparing to carry out a coup by physically eliminating the President of Uzbekistan at that time Islam Karimov and the Ex-Prime Minister – current President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev,” he said.
According to Ahmed Aliyev, Rakhim Mamajonov, on behalf of the former First Deputy Chairman of the SSS Shukhrat Gulamov, offered to give the Gold Center building to Gulamov and run the Center for a salary.
In addition, Rakhim Mamajonov told him that a coup was being planned.
Aliyev wanted to report it to the competent bodies, but he was arrested soon.
It should be recalled that in January 2017, 51-year-old Lieutenant General Shukhrat Gulamov was dismissed from the post of First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Service (NSS) and transferred to the Surkhandarya Regional Department. Shukhrat Gulyamov started his career in the NSS structure from Surkhandarya.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the Surkhandarya region on 19-20 January, 2018, called Shukhrat Gulamov a traitor.
