PDP representative: 25-year old education program of Uzbekistan was wrong
On December 10, at the “Democratic debate” talk show, political parties focused on the issues of internal and external migration, labor protection and pension supply to migrants.
Speaking at the debate, Boymurod Yusupov, who represents the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stated that an increase in the number of migrants among the country’s young people is growing due to a failure of the national education program in the past.
“The national education program we chose was wrong. Billions of soums from the state budget were spent on this. Parents had to re-enroll their children in a 3-month course, who had already studied at a college for three years.
The government invested so much money, but the education, which was not given in 3 years, had to be provided by private courses in 3 months.
Today so many doctoral dissertations are written and defended in Uzbekistan. But how many of them are being used in industry, manufacturing and life? So this is directly related to education. If these scientific developments have been analyzed timely, then we would have been among the countries with high intellectual potential,” Kun.uz correspondent quotes Boymurod Yusupov as saying.
Earlier, the CEC member Sherzod Kudratkhodjayev criticized the political parties for their lack of involvement in the election campaign, stating that Uzbekistan had been living in a “non-party environment” for 25 years.
